My friend Neal Rantoul sent me this information about his latest project:
"I’ve been a photographer for a long time, since the early 70s. My career has been largely making black and white photographs until the early 2000s. From the years 1984-2005, I worked in the 8 x 10-inch format. We are making a book of some these pictures.
In our present-day, where all of photography is driven by the requirement for digital rendering of our work, I realized a few years ago that if we didn’t scan my 8 x 10 photographs, they would never be seen. So, we are doing just that.
The photographs in the book will encompass work from all over the US as well as from Italy and France, where I taught in the summers for much of the 90s. I am principally a rural and urban landscape photographer. And, so, most of the 8 x10 work is in that genre.
This is just a small sampling.
Thank you for looking and to www.photoweenie.com for publishing it. I can be reached at: nrantoul@comcast.net and my website is: www.nealrantoul.com."
